It’s winter…I think. The few weeks after Thanksgiving seem to go by very quickly and we tend to get in a panicky rush that lasts right up until the end of the year. Take a few minutes every day to breathe and take care of yourself. Exercise, eat right (with a few cheat snacks here and there!), and sleep well to avoid feeling run down.

Other daily and seemingly simple things can help make this time more enjoyable – being outside on a nice day, playing with your cat/dog, playing in the snow (if we ever get some), or buying a cup of coffee for someone in line behind you (I heard that one from Prof. Daniel Gilbert) – can all increase our sense of well being.

With whatever season we have right now, 2016 is just a couple weeks away, and I just wanted to update you on some exciting things happening at BodyWorks!

Firstly, in January, BodyWorks will be starting to offer massage at a second location in Troy. I’ve referred quite a few patients to Jennifer over the past 2 years or so, and we’re combining forces. BodyWorks 2, as we’re affectionately calling our other location, is located at 17 and Rochester. Sure, there are a couple miles separating the two locations, but don’t let that deter you from booking an appointment! We can book your massage appointments and take payments right at the office.

To help kick things off with Jennifer, she will be at the office Monday, Dec 21 from 9:30-1pm and Monday, Dec 28 from 3-6:30pm giving FREE 10 minute chair massages to existing BodyWorks patients. If you’d like to see what times we still have available, please call the office or email Ericca at clawsonbodyworks@gmail.com. We are also offering 2 60-minute massages for $100. Take advantage of this special – ending on December 30.

Secondly…as far as Baby Q updates, we have a baby pool going at the office in which we are raising money for Haven – an organization that supports survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. You have a chance to win a free adjustment and a couple other prizes if you decide to guess on Baby Q’s sex, birthday, weight, and all that other fun stuff. We can explain more about the pool at your next appointment.

We will also be having an Open House on Wednesday, January 20 at the office from 6:30-8pm where we will be collecting gently used baby clothes for Haven. We will have food, raffles, and free chair massages with Jennifer, our newest massage therapist. If you plan on attending, we ask that you RSVP by January 15 so we can get a food count. Hope to see you there – it’s a great cause!

Remember to lend a helping paw this holiday season!

Thirdly, as a reminder…my due date is March 10 – about 11 weeks away. When scheduling your appointments, especially those of you that schedule 4-6 weeks ahead of time, please be patient if Ericca gives you an excited phone call in March cancelling your appointment. As I’ve been telling people thus far, I plan on working up until Baby Q arrives and plan on just a couple weeks off, then easing back into things. We will keep you updated on scheduling changes and when my awesome backup docs plan to be around.

Have a great holiday and end of the year!
I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment!
